Maharashtra: Fed up with civic body, corporator fills potholes on Kalyan-Malang road

In Kalyan-Dombivli potholes have turned up due to rains at many roads causing major inconvenience to public.
KALYAN: Fed up with no response despite several complaints regarding potholes on Kalyan-Malang road on which in past three people have died due to potholes, the local corporator Kunal Patil, as protest against KDMC (Kalyan-Dombivli Municipal Corporation) on Friday filled some potholes by spending his own money.
In the twin city potholes have turned up due to rains at many roads causing major inconvenience to public.
Similarly on one of important 4.2 km Kalyan- Malang road situated in Kalyan (East), people are facing major inconvenience as potholes are there everywhere on road while the entire road on 200 meters stretch on Dwarli village has completely washed away due to rain.
Patil told TOI, "Looking at bad condition of road. Several times ahead of Ganesh festival, I had demanded KDMC to fill potholes but they did not listen. So today I decided to fill some portion of potholes by spending my own money to wake the administration up so that at least they fill remaining potholes on the stretch".
When asked about the issue, Prashant Bhujbal, deputy engineer of KDMC said, "The widening of road work on 200 meter stretch on Dwarli portion is pending because of compensation issue by villagers but to fill potholes we are waiting for the rain to stop so that we can fill potholes or else in absence of proper drainage line system during rain the roads gets washed away".
Bhujbal said, "Since the rains have stopped we have planned to fill potholes within a week".
