Stephen Spears Joins Avaya as First Chief Revenue Officer

Spears will be looking after the strategy, performance, and alignment of revenue operations for Avaya, helping to accelerate execution on the company’s growth strategy and would be coming up with experiences that matter to Avaya customers and partners worldwide.

Avaya, the multinational business communications company, based in Santa Clara, California, announced a major addition of Stephen Spears in the new role of Chief Revenue Officer to its executive management team. 

Spears will be looking after the strategy, performance, and alignment of revenue operations for Avaya, helping to accelerate execution on the company’s growth strategy and would be coming up with experiences that matter to Avaya customers and partners worldwide. He will have full ownership of the company’s revenue-generating organizations, customer lifecycle, and go-to-client functions, including global sales and marketing, partner management, and all channel related activities.

Spears’ management career includes extensive go-to-market experience as well as deep expertise in the SaaS and Cloud arena spanning over nearly three decades. He has spent the last 17 years in various key senior leadership roles at SAP. The most recent one, as the Chief Revenue Officer of SAP SuccessFactors. In this function, Spears helped redefine the HCM category to Human Experience Management (HXM) and grew annual revenues by approximately 30 per cent with more than 7,000 customers in over 200 countries and territories worldwide.
