GURUGRAM: With metro services resuming on September 7, the district administration has decided to deploy one supervisor each at the five Yellow Line stations in Gurugram. These officials will coordinate with officials of the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) to ensure that social distancing and other safety norms are followed at stations.
Moreover, one nodal officer will also be appointed for overall supervision of the five stations. This was decided in a meeting convened by Gurugram deputy commissioner (DC) Amit Khatri with DMRC officials at his office on Thursday. Khatri asked the officials to give suggestions on how the district administration could help DMRC to prevent the spread of Covid-19 once the metro becomes operational. While Rapid Metro is also expected to resume services from September 7, it was not discussed in the meeting.

Khatri said DMRC will have to devise a plan so that people don’t gather at one point at stations. Sufficient personnel should be deployed to conduct thermal scanning of passengers. DMRC assistant manager Rishabh Singh, who was present in the meeting, said that thermal scanning of all passengers will be conducted. Only those who don’t show any symptoms will be allowed to enter.
