Sushant Singh Rajput Case LIVE Updates: Sushant Singh Rajput's manager Shruti Modi reportedly informed the Central Bureau of Investigation that the late actor would often consume marijuana along with Rhea Chakraborty, who would smoke joints with SSR's house manager Samuel Miranda and her brother Showik Chakraborty regularly on Sushant's terrace, a CBI source indicated to CNN-News18. For the uninitiated, the Narcotics Control Bureau has been investigating a possible drug angle in the Sushant Singh Rajput death case after the Enforcement Directorate officials traced Rhea Chakraborty's WhatsApp chats which alleges her of "usage and dealing of banned drugs."
Meanwhile, Rhea Chakraborty's father Indrajit Chakraborty is currently being questioned by the Central Bureau of Investigation. He arrived at the DRDO guest house, Kalina, Santacruz, where the CBI team is stationed, around 10:20 am in a car escorted by a police vehicle. This is the third straight day of questioning of Indrajit Chakraborty. He was interrogated for around 10 hours by the central agency team on Wednesday. Rhea Chakraborty and her family members are accused of abetting the suicide of Sushant Singh Rajput (34), who was found dead in his flat in suburban Bandra on June 14.

Vikas Singh claims that the Mumbai Police 'forced' Sushant's family to sign a statement in Marathi
Sushant Singh Rajput talked about "feeling low" and had consulted a psychiatrist way back in 2013, his sisters told Mumbai Police in their statements after his death. However, Sushant's family lawyer alleged that the statements recorded by the Mumbai Police were in Marathi and were not read out to them and the sisters were "forced to sign" those statements. "The statement is being leaked out by Mumbai police through friendly media or accused... SSR family members do not know Marathi... None of the family members said anything which is written there... copy of statement was not provided to us," Singh said.

No insurance link to charges, says Sushant's family lawyer
Sushant Singh Rajput's family lawyer Vikas Singh, in his media address on Wednesday, said that a suggestion is being made that Sushant had a life insurance policy and the family would not get the money if he is declared to have died by suicide. “And it is for this reason that the suicide theory was later changed to abetment of suicide. I must inform all of you that Sushant did not have any life insurance policy,” he said

A US media company has decided to take down their billboards demanding justice in the death case of actor Sushant Singh Rajput. The company, as per an e-mail conversation shared by Sushant’s US-based sister Shweta Singh Kirti, believes that the campaign is trying malign the "woman associated with Sushant." Shweta took to Twitter and Instagram to share screenshots of the e-mails. She said it is "a PR" exercise to derail the campaign.

AIIMS Report Can't Decide Whether It Was Murder or Suicide: Subramanian Swamy
BJP Rajya Sabha MP Subramanian Swamy says the AIIMS post-mortem report cannot ascertain if the death of Sushant Singh Rajput happened due to suicide or murder because the hospital never had his body. He took to Twitter to express his view after learning that the some police officials have been "briefing" the media that the AIIMS report would decide if it was a case of murder or suicide.

Sushant Singh Rajput Case: NCB Arrests Two Involved in Alleged Drug Trafficking
The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has arrested two alleged contraband dealers in connection with the drugs trafficking case linked to the case of actor Sushant Singh Rajput's death, officials said on Wednesday. The arrested men have been identified by the federal anti-narcotics agency as Zaid Vilatra and Basit Parihar. Indian currency worth Rs 9,55,750 and foreign currency (USD 2,081, 180 British Pounds, 15 dirhams), which the NCB claimed are "proceeds of drug peddling", have been recovered from Zaid, who is stated to in his twenties.

Malicious Campaign by Media to Defame Sushant's Kin, Boost Rhea's Image, Says SSR's Family Lawyer
Sushant Singh Rajput's family lawyer Vikas Singh Wednesday said a malicious campaign relating to his mental health was being run by few TV channels to defame his family and benefit actress Rhea Chakraborty, who has been accused of abetting the actor's suicide. The senior advocate told the media that Sushant's three sisters -- Priyanka, Mitu and Rani -- told him that they are extremely pained by the negative and false campaign related to his mental health which has been started by some news channels. The lawyer said the FIR lodged by Sushant's father is in the public domain and in spite of this it is being said that the family was aware of his depression.

Rhea's father reaches CBI office for questioning
Rhea Chakraborty's father Indrajit Chakraborty has appeared before the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) for the third time. He was interrogated for around 10 hours by the central agency team on Wednesday. The 28-year-old actress and her family members are accused of abetting the suicide of Sushant Singh Rajput (34), who was found dead in his flat in suburban Bandra on June 14.
Rhea Chakraborty, her brother and mother were not summoned on Wednesday. On Tuesday, the probe team questioned the actress' father and mother for over eight hours in connection with the case. The actress was earlier questioned for around 35 hours over four days from last Friday till Monday.
The late film star's father subsequently filed a police complaint in Patna, accusing Rhea Chakraborty and her family of abetting his suicide and misappropriating his money. The Supreme Court last week upheld the transfer of the FIR lodged in Patna to the central agency. The CBI has so far remained tight-lipped about details of its probe into the high-profile case which has been hogging media limelight.
