College admissions in Haryana to start next week

Gurgaon: As the state government has decided not to open colleges for students till the end of September at least, the education department has come out with an online admission schedule for undergraduate courses.
In a recently-issued order, the director general of higher education said online admission for undergraduate classes in all government-aided and self-financed colleges will commence from September 7. The department has also released the schedule of the admission process with guidelines for colleges and students.
As per the orders, candidates will be allowed to submit applications online from September 7 till September 21. The new session will start on October 6.
“All colleges have conveyed the information required for the admission process. Between September 7 and 21, colleges will accept the applications. The first merit list will be displayed on September 26. Second merit list shall be out on September 30. After that there’ll be nearly one week to complete fee submission and other formalities, and the academic session will commence from October 6,” an official from the department said.
Besides issuing a timeline of the entire process, the department has also issued a set of guidelines for both colleges and students. If the selected student fails to submit fees within the stipulated time period, their seats shall be cancelled. However, they’ll be given a chance to be admitted during the open counselling session that will start from October 6.
Further, applicants whose admission is confirmed will have to submit their original migration certificate, if they are from any board other than Board of School Education Haryana, to the college within ten days of admission.
The department has also laid down guidelines for taking admissions under the reservation policy.
“While implementing reservation policy, rounding of number of seats will be done. In case of mismatch during bifurcation of seats by online admission software, the adjustment of number of seats will be done in Haryana open general category,” the order stated.
