Trichy man booked for sexual assault of girl

TRICHY: A 26-year-old man was booked on Wednesday for sexually assaulting a 13-year-old girl near Jeeyapuram on the outskirts of Trichy.
The man was yet to be arrested, police said.
The accused has been identified as S Sathish. He was booked under sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (Pocso) Act.
The complaint was lodged at the Jeeyapuram all-woman police station by the girl’s mother.
The woman said her daughter was alone at home on August 29. The woman went for work.
Sathish barged into her house and took the girl to a vacant house nearby to sexually assault her.
The minor girl managed to escape from Sathish and informed her mother about the incident.
