Orlando Pirates coach Josef Zinnbauer was thrilled to see his side record their second successive victory over Maritzburg United on Wednesday night.

Gabadinho Mhango scored the only goal of the game at Lucas Masterpieces Moripe Stadium in the first minute of stoppage time at the end of the match.

The victory followed their 2-1 win over SuperSport United, to leave Bucs in fourth place with 59 points, one point behind of Matsatsantsa (50 points), on the Absa Premiership standings with one match to play.

Speaking after the match on SuperSport TV, Zinnbauer paid credit to the structure of his defence.

The Pirates boss was also pleased that Mhango had come off the bench to affect the result as he eyes a third-place finish to qualify for next season's CAF Champions League.

Zinnbauer told SuperSport after the game: "I think in the first half it was good, we had good chances we could have scored. But we know Maritzburg are a good team and we had to see this in the second half [where we] came more and more closer to the goal.

"We had a good defending structure today and we had cover at the back, and I think for the whole team it was completely collective work against the opponents and it was the reason we won the game today.

"I think it's now important we have won games in a row now."

"We have the last game and that's important for us to take the three points and [then] we have nine points [from the last three games] and then the season will be okay for us.

"Maybe we have a chance for that place [top three] and when we have the chance, we have to take this. This is the target we have in the last game."

Pirates play Stellenbosch in their last match this Saturday.
