Ranchi: In order to promote voluntary plasma donation among recovered covid-19 patients and to ensure availability of plasma for critical patients, the Ranchi district administration on Wednesday launched an online portal pratirakshak.co.in.
Launching the portal, Ranchi deputy commissioner Chhavi Ranjan said, “The idea behind launching the portal is to make the process transparent and to create awareness on donation. It will also help in providing plasma to ailing patients on a first come first serve basis.”
Adding further, Ranjan said, “Anyone who wants to donate plasma or require plasma for an admitted patient can register themselves on the web portal and they will be co-ordinated with by a team of volunteers who will be responding to each and every application and request.”
On being inquired about the functioning of the portal, Asmita Mutt, co-ordinator of the plasma portal said, “We have uploaded a detailed form which asks for name, age, SRF ID, address, gender, blood group, mobile number as well as the hospital where the patient is admitted and requires plasma. Soon after an attendant fills out the required details, they will be intimated through SMS about the confirmation of plasma. Donors will need to fill out the forms and instead of hospital details, they will require to furnish the date when they tested positive.”
On being asked how will district administration or hospital authorities will verify the veracity of plasma requisition made online, Ranjan said, “Every application will be cross verified against the SRF IDs of the patients mentioned in the applications.”
