Metro services will be operational in the country in a hierarchical manner from September 7. Metro will not be stopped at stations where social distancing rules are not followed. Delhi Metro will run in three phases from 7 September.

Initially, trains will be operated in two shifts of four hours each at the peak time in the morning and evening. Later, the timing of shifts will be extended. The metro will have normal operations across the country including the capital Delhi from September 12.

Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri issued the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) on Wednesday, instructing him to strictly follow the Kovid protocol. Metro stations will not be opened in areas with containment zones under SOP.

Passengers must compulsorily follow all other prevention rules, including social distancing and masks. It will be mandatory to wear a mask during the journey. Ministry Secretary Durgashankar Mishra told that initially, all the lines will not open simultaneously. Service will start in three stages, the entry will not be provided without a mask

First Phase: On September 7, Samaypur Badli to Huda City Center and Rapid Metro will run from 7-11 am and 4 pm to 8 pm on the Yellow Line. Then on September 9, Metro will run between Dwarka Sector 21 on Noida Electronic City / Vaishali on Blue Line and Majlis Park to Shiv Vihar on Pink Line from 7-11 am and 4-8 pm. On September 10, the metro will run between Red Line P Rithala to Shaheed Sthal Naya Bus Station, Kirti Nagar / Inderlok on Green Line, Brig Hoshiar Singh Bahadurgarh and Kashmere Gate on Raja Nahar Singh (Ballabhgarh) on Violet Line.

Second Phase: On September 11, Metro will run between Janakpuri West to Botanical Garden on Magenta Line and Dwarka to Najafgarh on Gray Line from 7 am to 1 pm and 4 pm to 10 pm. The first phase trains will run at the same time before September 11.

Third Phase: In this phase starting from September 12, along with the services of the first two phases, the Airport Express Line will also be started. Also, all metro services from this phase will run regularly from 6 am to 11 pm.

Access will not be provided without a mask

Metro staff along with passengers will also not be allowed to enter the metro station without a mask. If a person arrives without a mask, he must buy the mask at the station. There will be a thermal screening of all the passengers and on getting the symptoms of the corona, it is advisable to visit the nearest COVID Care Center.
