So far 18,900 students have not responded and Thursday (September 3) is the last day for confirmation of admission in the first round, informed Mina Shendkar, Secretary of Class 11 Online Admission Regulation Committee.

Online Central Admission Process is being implemented for Class 11 admissions in junior colleges of Pimpri-Chinchwad and Pune city. About 304 colleges have registered for this process. The merit list was released on August 30 by the Class XI Online Admission Regulation Committee after the registration of students.

Admissions during the first round must be confirmed between August 31 and September 3. The list for the first round includes 40,013 students, of whom 19,575 have got college as per their first choice.

Thursday (September 3) is the last day for confirmation of entry in the first round and so far 21 thousand 113 students have consented for admission. Out of them 15 thousand 101 have secured admission in the college by paying fees. 18,900 students did not respond. Students may rush for admissions on the last day, so this number might come down.

Most of the students who haven’t taken admission yet have cited reasons as not getting their college of first choice and allotted college being away from home. The schedule for the second round is expected to be announced on Thursday.

In the first merit list of the class 11 admission the cut-off of reputed colleges in the city has increased by four to ten percent. The cut-off for a college’s non-subsidized seats for art course has increased by 22 per cent over the previous year. This is probably the first time that the cut-off for the class 11 admission has increased significantly.
