Chippa United coach Lehlohonolo Seema admitted his side conceded a "soft" goal to Kaizer Chiefs in their 1-0 loss on Wednesday night.

Khama Billiat scored the only goal of the game from close range at the Orlando Stadium to leave the Chilli Boys only three points clear of the relegation places with one game left to play.

Chippa had a legitimate goal in the second-half disallowed for a foul on returning Amakhosi goalkeeper Itumeleng Khune.

Seema's side ended the tie with nine players after Tercious Malepe and Elvis Moyo both saw red. After the match, the Chippa coach said: "Before we talk about the disallowed goal, I still have to check it, I didn't see anything.

"Once again, we gave away a soft, soft goal. It was once again on the left-hand side and we are a squad that needs a lot of work. We will work and of course you can see our squad is thin in numbers so we'll have to strengthen.

Seema added: "I'm happy with the fight that they came back with in the second-half, but like against Stellenbosch I don't know why the players wait for us to talk to them in the dressing room and then they only show fight, and we spoke about that. Let’s start the way we finished the first-half.

"But it is a work in progress. I'm sure you can see the fight is there, the commitment is there. It's just that the team you see lacks a bit of confidence, especially in the box."
