#JusticeForKaku: Why it’s trending and why there's nothing funny about it
Yet another video has broken the internet. An undated video of a househelp arguing with two guys in Marathi has gone viral. The househelp complains about her employers not paying her Rs 1800, but the employers say, they paid her in full.
The woman says she received Rs 1500 plus Rs 300, but she is unable to understand that the total is Rs 1800. Her employers explain that they gave her three notes of Rs 500, one of Rs 200 and one note of Rs 100 and the total is Rs 1800. Unable to understand the calculation, she continues to argue further and claim that she hasn’t been paid Rs 1800.
Undoubtedly, this video went viral on social media and a meme fest began with#JusticeForKaku . Netizens cracked jokes on the domestic help’s lack of mathematical skills. A user doctored an image of a Rs 500 currency note to Rs 1800 and suggested to pay her with it, while many other created memes.
Need more proof that the internet is a toxic place?
Only a few Twitter users understood the problem in this case and highlighted the problem the domestic help was facing.
Yashomati Thakur, Maharashtra Cabinet Minister for Women & Child Development also tweeted the video and urged people to respect their househelps. She further said that this example is a challenge for the government and it will soon bring a programme to educate the underprivileged.
