Generations will remember Mukherjee: Narendra Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while giving a final farewell to former President Pranab Mukherjee, said on Tuesday that he will remember generations for his efforts towards the development of the country.


After paying homage to Mukherjee at his official residence 10, Rajaji Marg, Modi tweeted, "I pay tribute to Shri Pranab Mukherjee." For his efforts towards the development of the country, generations will remember him.

Mukherjee died on Monday evening at the Army's Research and Referral Hospital. He was 84 years old. He was admitted to the hospital on 10 August. His brain surgery was done the same day.

Mukherjee was the 13th President of the country from 2012 to 2017. He worked with Prime Ministers like Indira Gandhi, PV Narasimha Rao, and Manmohan Singh.

Born in West Bengal, this politician was called a walking 'Encyclopaedia' and everyone was admired for his memory ability, sharp intellect and deep understanding of issues.
