AMBALA:
Ambala recorded its 36th death due to Covid-19 after a woman died on Tuesday, said district civil surgeon Dr Kuldeep Singh.
“A 30-year-old woman of Shiv Vihar,
Ambala Cantt died of Covid-19 on Tuesday”, said Dr Kuldeep.
Ninety-six people tested positive for Covid-19, increasing the case tally to 4,016, with 577 active cases on Wednesday, he said.
"Of the 96 fresh cases, 39 are from Ambala City, 36 from Ambala Cantt, seven from Chourmastpur, five from Naraingarh, three each from Barara, Mullana, and
Shahzadpur, four from Barara and one from Shahzadpur”, said Dr Singh.
As many as 106 patients were discharged, taking the recovery count to 3,403 on the day, he said.
“With the recovery rate of 84.74%, the case tally reached 4,016 in Ambala, of which; 3,403 patients got discharged, 36 died and 577 are active cases”, he said.
“So far up to August 31, we have collected 62,611 samples for Covid-19 testing in Ambala, of which, 52,146 are RT-PCR samples and 10,465 are antigen testing kit samples. In the district, we have collected 55,506 samples per 10 lakh population”, said Dr Singh.
