The hotels and restaurants of Indonesia are banding together with domestic airlines in setting up affordable travel bundles that would help in reviving the domestic tourism sector that’s struggling immensely.
Recently, an agreement was signed between the Indonesia Hotel and Restaurant Association (IHRA) and Indonesia Air Carriers Association (INACA) with attractive travel packages that would boost up domestic consumption.
In Bali, the MoU was signed by the Chairmen from both associations: Haryadi Sukamdani from IHRA, and Denon Prawiraatmadja from INACA.
Earlier in Jakarta, a similar step was taken to perk up domestic demand, Indonesia AirAsia CEO Veranita Sinaga, alongside Denon and airport authority dignitaries introduced the Waktunya Terbang (Time to Fly) campaign at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport.
Last weekend, both the events arranged as part of the INACA-IHRA Safe Travel Campaign series to stimulate confidence related to travel and boost up domestic travel sector.
On August 6, 2020, the campaign series was launched in Bali, followed by Medan and Yogyakarta, before returning to Bali last weekend. In each edition, INACA and IHRA were seeing collaborating with a different airline.
To quote Denon, “Today, we are facing a ‘fierce duel’ between health and the economy with this pandemic. For us in the industry, both are top priorities. We need to create a pattern to stop the virus from spreading out and at the same time, (create an environment that) will allow people to do their activities without too much fear.”
For both the associations, both Denon and Haryadi stated that the joint campaign was an epic move as they were aligned around common goals, and mutually helpful to both parties. In return, they hope to contribute to the economic recovery of the country.
