EVENT HIGHLIGHTS

The Indian markets were trading flat on Wednesday ahead of the Supreme Court's hearing on loan moratorium.
Among the benchmark indices, the S&P BSE Sensex hovered around 38,870 levels and the Nifty50 index was trading near 11,490-mark. ONGC gained over 2 per cent after the announcement of its June quarter results and was the top Sensex gainer in the early deals. UltraTech Cement, Tech Mahindra, and Tata Steel (all up 1%) were the other top gainers. On the other hand, Bajaj Auto and Kotak Mahindra Bank dipped 1 per cent each.
Shares of Vodafone Idea leaped 14 per cent after the company announced board meet on September 4 to consider fund raising.
The trend among Nifty sectoral indices was mixed, with the Nifty PSU Bank index, down 0.9 per cent, being the major drag.
In the broader market, the S&P BSE MidCap index was trading 0.7 per cent higher and the SmallCap index was ruling 1 per cent up.
