Unauthorised realty project restarts without MC nod

Ground levelling work is currently under way at the site
HOSHIARPUR: Work on an unauthorised residential project on Adamvaal Road in Bahadurpur near here is still on, in spite of the local municipal corporation (MC) asking developers to stop it.
Work for earth filing and levelling is still on at the site. In a communiqué dated June 16, while responding to an application for regularising the colony, MC assistant town planner Lakhbir Singh had held that there was no colony on the site and it could not be regularised as per the government policy of October 18, 2018.
The communiqué even held that it had also come to the notice of MC officials that efforts were on to develop the project by earth filling, which was also in violation of Punjab Apartment and Property Regulation Act (PAPRA).
The communiqué also directed the applicant not to develop the project or MC would take action without serving any notice and any unauthorised structure would be demolished.
Lakhbir admitted said he was unaware of work being restarted. He said the MC commissioner had already started personal hearing in the case. MC commissioner Balbir Raj Singh said he would get the site checked after sending officials there.
