Chennai:
The virus, which started with the Dravidian party MLAs and ministers, has now started spreading to leaders of national parties too.
On Monday, senior BJP leader and former Rajya Sabha MP L Ganesan tested positive and has been admitted to a hospital in Chennai.
According to BJP insiders, the 75-year-old leader last week attended the BJP executive meeting chaired by party president J P Nadda and senior leader Muralidhar Rao. All those who were in touch with senior leader have been asked to go for tests.
The BJP leader was healthy and was regularly interacting with the party workers. “But, as the leader is old, we are little worried,” a BJP insider said.
“Our senior leader Ganesan tested positive and he is being attended to by a team of doctors. He is stable and will return home in a couple of days,” BJP spokesperson ANS Prasad told DT Next.
