Defence Minister Rajnath Singh paid last respects to former President Pranab Mukherjee at his residence in 10 Rajaji Marg. Also Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, President Ram Nath Kovind and chiefs of three defence services were among the dignitaries who paid their last respects to former president Pranab Mukherjee on Tuesday morning. Former president Pranab Mukherjee, statesman, scholar and one of India’s most respected leaders across the political spectrum, died on Monday evening. The former prez died following a 21-day battle with multiple ailments. He was 84. Mukherjee, who was admitted to the Army’s Research and Referral Hospital on August 10 and was operated for removal of a clot in the brain the same day. He is survived by two sons and a daughter.
