SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir L-G Manoj Sinha visited Hazratbal shrine, on the banks of Srinagar’s Dal lake, on Tuesday and took stock of facilities being put in place for devotees.
Sinha paid obeisance at the shrine and prayed for peace, progress, and prosperity in the UT of J&K and the well-being of its people. He interacted with religious leaders there and urged them to play an effective role in the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic by spreading continuous awareness among the people on adopting the necessary precautions.
He instructed officers to speed up development work under the Pilgrimage Rejuvenation and Spiritual Augmentation Drive (Prasad).
Hazratbal shrine is one of the religious sites getting a revamp under the Union government’s “Prasad” scheme.
