Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday morning once again accused Facebook and WhatsApp of attacking India's democracy and social harmony. He said this when his party wrote a letter to Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg twice in a span of two weeks, stating the social media veteran's alleged bias towards the BJP.

The former Congress president tweeted, sharing the Wall Street Journal report, 'The international media has fully exposed the attack on India's democracy and social harmony on Facebook and WhatsApp. Anyone, except a foreign company, has been allowed to interfere in the affairs of our country. They should be investigated immediately and punished if found guilty. '

The latest report by foreign media claimed that Facebook executive Ankhi Das does not impose abusive language rules on the ruling BJP members. Reportedly, Das did internal postings for years. The report says that she supports the ruling BJP.

Earlier on Saturday, Rahul had targeted the Modi government over the link between Facebook and BJP. He cited reports published in Time magazine about links between BJP and Facebook and attacked the failure to curb abusive language.

Rahul Gandhi had tweeted and said, 'America's Time magazine has exposed the nexus between WhatsApp and BJP. 40 crore Indians use it. WhatsApp wants it to be used for payment, which requires the approval of the Modi government. In this way, BJP has a hold on WhatsApp.

The Time magazine article described how Facebook has failed to investigate hate speech in the case of comments made by BJP leaders. Some BJP leaders have violated the protocol of hate speech.
