PARIS -- Symbio, the joint subsidiary of Faurecia and Michelin that focuses on hydrogen technology, has named Philippe Rosier, a veteran chemical and energy executive, as CEO.
Rosier, who was most recently CEO of Cerdia, a Swiss company that makes cigarette filter materials, replaces Fabio Ferrari, who founded Symbio in 2010 as a startup. Ferrari will join Michelin to work on development of hydrogen activities, Symbio said in a news release.
Rosier worked at Cerdia from June 2017 to July 2019. Before that, he was an executive at Solvay, a materials and chemicals company that serves a number of sectors, and at Orbeo, an energy company.
Symbio became a joint venture of Michelin and Faurecia in 2019.
The company produces hydrogen fuel cell components and systems. Among its customers are Renault, which uses a Symbio generator in its Kangoo Z.E. Hydrogen small van; the Pininfarina H2 Speed concept vehicle from 2016; and the Navibus, a hydrogen powered river shuttle in Nantes, France.
