It's been over a couple of days since Chadwick Boseman's death was announced on social media yet fans have been finding it hard to wrap their heads around the tragic loss of a great actor and equally good human being.
Boseman, who portrayed the Black icons Jackie Robinson in 42 and James Brown in Get on Up before finding international fame with superhero Black Panther in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, was diagnosed with colon cancer four years ago, his family said in a statement.
The news of the celebrated actor's passing away was shared from Boseman's official Twitter page on Saturday.
"It is with immeasurable grief that we confirm the passing of Chadwick Boseman. Chadwick was diagnosed with stage III colon cancer in 2016 and battled with it these last 4 years as it progressed to stage IV. A true fighter, Chadwick persevered through it all, and brought many of the films you have come to love so much,” the statement read.

Since then, a plethora of fans has paid tribute to Boseman, who was 43.

One such tribute came from WWE world champion John Cena, who shared a snapshot of T'Challa, famously portrayed by Boseman in 2018's hit Black Panther-- in his usual, cryptic manner.
He followed it up with another photo of Boseman from 42 where he portrayed baseball great Jackie Robinson.

Boseman had not spoken publicly about his diagnosis. However, in April this year, fans expressed their concern when some pictures of his dramatic weight loss surfaced on the internet. He did an Instagram live in which his leaner frame fetched attention.
Earlier, John Cena had paid tributes to Bollywood actors Rishi Kapoor, Irrfan Khan, and Sushant Singh Rajput from his Instagram account.
