Telangana govt begins online classes today, schools to remain shut

On August 24th, the school education department of the state had announced that the online classes for students in Telangana will begin from September 1.

HYDERABAD: The academic session of Telangana for 2020-2021 will formally begin today i.e., September 1 with the online classes for school students.


On August 24th, the school education department of the state had announced that the online classes for students in Telangana will begin from September 1. The cabinet meeting held on August 5 had approved the commencement of admissions and further agreed to begin distance education and e-learning for schools.

The teachers were instructed to attend schools regularly from August 27 and prepare e-class content and lesson plans. Earlier, issuing an order, the special chief secretary Chitra Ramchandran had said: “The Government, after careful examination, hereby permit as part of e-learning and distance education, online classes on various digital/Tv/T-SAT platforms from September 1, 2020, in all schools. All teachers shall attend schools regularly from August 27 onwards and shall prepare e-content lessons."


The government will release a separate notice as per the government of India guidelines regarding the reopening of schools and commencement of regular classes. Until then, all schools, etc will remain physically closed for students in the state.
