Bastora panchayat will remain closed after a staff working at the panchayat tested positive for COVID-19. The panchayat will remain closed until such time that its premises are
sanitised.
The Bastora sarpanch Ranjit Usgaonkar said that one of the panchayat staff has tested positive, therefore in order to prevent the spread of the virus, the panchayat will be closed from September 1 until sanitisation of its premises is done.
Sarpanch Ranjit Usgaonkar said that along with two panchayat staff, he will be undergoing testing on Wednesday and until then all will be under isolation. Depending on the result further decision on testing of other staff will be taken.
Aldona health centre on Tuesday witnessed an increase in COVID positive cases as 20 new cases were recorded. Nine cases were recorded in Nachinola. Aldona recorded six cases which included a family of four members from Quitla, two cases each in Pomburpa and Bastora and one case at Corjuem.
