Teams of the Goa police are trying to locate assistant professor of economics at the Goa University, Vishal Chari (37), who has gone missing since Saturday. According to the police, Chari was last seen (as per a CCTV footage) at a temple located at the base of a hill in Paroda, Quepem on Saturday at around 1 pm.

Police have examined the CCTV footage at the temple in which Chari was seen entering and leaving the premises, informed sources. However, it is not known from there where he went leaving the car at the location. He was alone, said the police referring to the CCTV footage.

Teams from the Old Goa police station, the Quepem police station and other police personnel are trying to locate Chari. Police said that they are conducting searches in the region which has thick vegetation. It may be recalled that the Old Goa police had registered a missing person’s report after Chari was reported to be missing from his Merces residence on Saturday morning. He had left from the house in his car. The car was traced at a location in Paroda-Quepem and the police are trying to locate Chari.

Meanwhile, Quepem police along with Old Goa police and others, under the supervision of PI Santosh Dessai, conducted searches in various parts of Paroda.

Quepem police and other personnel are camping in Paroda. PI Dessai said that Quepem police have taken possession of a Tata Bolt car found parked at Mulsa-Paroda.

“We have searched for the professor even in remote areas of Paroda,” he said and informed that some well wishers of Chari are also extending their help.
