A popular almond milk has been recalled from supermarkets due to potential health risks.

Milk Lab's one litre boxes of almond milk are being recalled by the company over fears of it's contaminated with mould.

The milk has a best before date of August 6, 2021, and has been on sale at cafes, supermarkets and restaurants in South Australia.

'Food products with microbial contamination may cause illness if consumed,' the recall notice reads.

Microbial contamination is when mould, fungi, bacteria and yeast appear in a product.

Consumers should return the product to their place of purchase to receive a full refund.
