'Rent dodger' is allegedly caught with a hoard of child abuse images and five disturbing sex dolls - one with a picture of a real kid's face stuck on its head

  • Adam Neil Wonnocott, 41, faced Adelaide Magistrates Court on Tuesday
  • He's accused of creating child-like sex dolls and keeping them in storage facility
  • Wonnocott is also accused of possessing child exploitation material on 60 USBs

A man who failed to pay rent on his storage facility has allegedly been found with five child-like sex dolls and hundreds of images of child abuse material.

Adam Neil Wonnocott, 41, faced Adelaide Magistrates Court on Tuesday after the alleged contents in his Panorama storage locker became property of the business in January when he failed to pay rent.

South Australian Police were contacted when the business' staff allegedly discovered the five dolls, The Advertiser reported.

Court documents allege the storage facility's staff also found 'photographic images of children performing sex acts'.

The dolls were allegedly made of 'stuffing and pantyhose' with sex toys built in to them.

Police allege that all the dolls were wearing female clothing and were found next to a bag of wigs that were styled into ponytails.

Officers arrested Wonnocott at his home, where police allegedly found more sex dolls and child abuse material.

One of the dolls allegedly found at Wonnocott's home had a child's face laminated to it.

Another allegedly had a sculpted hand that was 'shaped for gripping'.

He is yet to make a plea on five counts of producing or taking steps to obtain childlike sex dolls and three counts of possessing them.

He is also charged with four counts of producing child exploitation material and a further four counts of possessing it, as well as a charge of attempting to obtain access to child abuse material.

John Matner, SA Police, asked the court on Tuesday for the case to be delayed a further five weeks as they obtain DNA evidence that allegedly links the accused to the dolls.

'There was a disparate length of time between the dolls being placed in storage and the arrest, so we wanted that evidence in respect of whether the accused was involved in raping the dolls,' Mr Matner said.

'Forensic samples that were taken from the dolls have now come back positive for the accused's DNA.'

He said that officers are also still going through 60 USB drives which allegedly contain child abuse material on them.

Judge Mary-Louise Hribal remanded Wonnocott, who will face court again in October.
