At least five civilians were injured after terrorists hurled a grenade at security forces deployed at Azad Gunj area of Baramulla district in north Kashmir.
Jammu and Kashmir police while confirming the incident said that 3 to 4 civilians have been injured according to initial information while forces were rushed to the area after the attack.
All the injured have now been shifted to a local hospital for treatment.
As per sources in the police, an army convoy was scheduled to pass through the route and the attack was aimed at hitting the convoy. However, the grenade missed the target and exploded roadside, injuring five civilians. Two of them are said to be critical and have been shifted to Srinagar for advanced treatment.
Meanwhile, the area has been cordoned off to nab the attackers all the entry and exit points are sealed.
