Pune: The number of COVID-19 cases in the country and state are recording new 'high' every day, but one assuring fact is that along with this the recovery rate of patients is also increasing in Maharashtra state.
According to figures released by the health department on August 30, 7,690 patients recovered from COVID-19 and returned home in one day. This has brought the number of cured patients to 5 lakh 62 thousand 401 so far. This has also increased the recovery rate to 72.04 per cent.

So far 40 lakh 84 thousand 754 COVID-19 tests have been conducted in the state out of which 7 lakh 80 thousand 689 people have reported positive for the disease. Among those tested, the number of positive reports was lower at about 19.11 per cent.
At present, there are 13.09 lakh patients kept in-home quarantine in the state. About 35,373 patients are in institutional quarantine facilities. At present, there are 1.93 lakh patients in the state and they are undergoing treatment. Most of the active patients in the state are from Pune.
So far 1.73 lakh COVID-19 patients have been identified in Pune out of which 1.17 lakh have recovered and discharged home. Pune has recorded 4060 deaths due to COVID-19 so far. The highest number of progressive cases of COVID-19 in the state is in Pune which is 51,909. After Pune, Thane and Mumbai have the highest number of active patients.
Thane has 20,976 active patients while 20,321 patients are undergoing treatment in Mumbai. The number of COVID-19 cases is also high in Nashik and Nagpur. There are 11,703 active patients in Nashik. In Nagpur, 11,574 patients are under treatment for COVID-19.
