The Chicalim sarpanch Sebastiao Pereira on Monday warned airline operators at Dabolim airport of initiating strict action for dumping of personal protective equipment (PPE) kits in the natural spring passing from Assoi Dongri residential area.

Speaking to this daily, Pereira said that he has been informed by some locals about dumping of large scale PPE kits in the natural spring which passes from Assoi Dongri residential area. “It is learnt that the PPE kits are strewn and dumped at the natural spring and belongs to some airlines which operate at the Dabolim airport”, said Pereira and have mentioned some reputed airlines whose tag was seen on the PPE kits.

“The Panchayat is very serious over the dumping of PPE kits in the natural spring. I have decided to inspect the site with the local panch member and write to the airlines for initiating strict action for their alleged involvement in such an act”, said Pereira.

Meanwhile, the people residing in and around Assoi Dongri have raised their ire
over the airlines for their shameful act in disposing PPE kits in the natural spring.
