Goa government has announced a seven-day state mourning as a mark of respect to former president Pranab Mukherjee, who passed away on Monday.

A seven-day state mourning will be observed from August 31 to September 6 in Goa.

“Government of Goa expresses profound sorrow on the sad demise of

Pranab Mukherjee, former president of India, on August 31, 2020,” a notification issued by the general administration department said on Monday.

During the period of state mourning, the national flag will fly at half-mast on all the buildings throughout the state where it is regularly flown and there will be no official entertainment.
