Margao: Colva police arrested two persons for alleged wrongful confinement and abusing a labourer. Police said that the labourer was allegedly bound by a chain with lock to his legs and confined at a place. The labourer was said to be engaged by one of the alleged accused.
Colva police sub inspector Deepa Deykar said that two persons -Alexio Fernandes and Ram Manjhi, another worker, were arrested in connection with the alleged incident. Both were released on bail, the police said. Police said that upon a complaint from Kashtu Manjhi of Jharkhand an offence under sections 342 and 504 read with 34 of IPC has been registered. Police sources said that the victim was drunk and to keep him in control the alleged accused is learnt to have meted out the treatment.
