Health Minister Vishwajit Rane on Monday informed that director of health services Dr Jose D’Sa, who is suffering from COVID-19, is now being treated with convalescent plasma therapy.
Interacting with media persons after inspecting one of the COVID wards in the Goa Medical College and Hospital at Bambolim (GMC), Rane said that the director’s oxygen saturation level has dropped and he is required to be given treatment through plasma therapy.
“GMC has provided plasma of A+ blood group to the Manipal Hospital where he is receiving treatment for COVID-19. We will do everything that needs to be done for his treatment,” Rane assured.
Dr D’Sa, who has been working at the forefront in controlling and managing the pandemic, tested positive for COVID-19 infection on August 27 with symptoms of cough and fever and was subsequently admitted to the Dona Paula-based hospital.
