Arsenal striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has reportedly turned down two transfer offers and will soon put pen to paper on a new three-year contract.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, via the Express, claims an agreement is close to being finalised. The deal will be worth £250,000-a-week, costing the Gunners £39m over the length of the contract.

Aubameyang provided another fine example of his quality with a stunning strike in the Community Shield win over Liverpool.

The Gabon international also netted the decisive spot-kick in the penalty shoot-out, which Arsenal won 5-4.

The 31-year-old has now scored 10 goals in his last 10 games, including seven of Arsenal's last eight in all competitions.

The Gunners skipper, who scored 29 goals last term, is expected to put pen-to-paper on an extension which will commit him to Arsenal until 2023. However, it's reported that he had other offers on the table.

That's according to Romano, who says Aubameyang snubbed two bids in order to sign a new contract at the Emirates.

His salary will usurp all of his team-mates' in 12 months' time after £350,000-a-week playmaker Mesut Ozil leaves on a free.

Romano tweeted: "Mikel Arteta just confirmed again that Pierre Aubameyang is 'close' to extend his contract.

"Arsenal consider the agreement almost 'reached and completed', the deal is done – he turned down 2 other bids.

"Gabriel Magalhaes will be announced soon. #AFC #transfers."
