Josef Zinnbauer says a combination of 'luck' and the 'fight' of his players enabled Orlando Pirates to defeat SuperSport United 2-1 on Saturday.

Vincent Pule opened the scoring with a sensational strike on 29 minutes before Luke Fleurs headed home a 41st minute equaliser.

Substitute Zakhele Lepasa came on to score the winner with his first touch with 58 minutes played as Matsatsantsa saw both Bucs stopper Wayne Sandilands deny Bradley Grobler and Thamsanqa Gabuza from the penalty spot.

Speaking after the game, Zinnbauer admitted he was grateful for the three points that saw Bucs move on to 46 points, in fourth place, one point and one place behind SuperSport.

Zinnbauer told SuperSport: "I'm glad now. It was a tough game for us. The opponent was not easy to play, they are a good team.

"We won against two penalties. Congratulations to Wayne he was top to today. It was a fighting game for us. It was not a top game for us where we [did not] dominate 100 percent.

"But I told the players before the game that it's not important now that we have always led the game. Yes in the future but we come back to the success and it’s important we needed the three points.

"And we have the luck and we have the fight. We gave 100 percent, all the players on the field. This was the key today in winning the game."

Pirates have two more games to finish their season, against Maritzburg United on Wednesday ahead of facing Stellenbosch.

Zinnbauer added: "I look [forward] to the last two games. It's a short time I know. The next game is important for me and now it’s important we have a good recovery and we have to stay focused for the next game and see what happens."
