26-year-old dies after truck crashes into Splendor

NOIDA: A 26-year-old man died on his way to work after his bike was hit by a truck on the Parthala-Sorkha road on Saturday morning.
The accident happened around 8am when Rahul Kumar, an executive with a private company in Sector 62, was travelling on his Hero Honda Splendor from the Char Murti intersection towards the FNG. A truck travelling on the same side hit his bike while taking a turn, police said.
Rahul fell off the bike due to the impact of the collision. Passers-by informed police after which a team of cops arrived at the spot and rushed him to a private hospital, where he succumbed to the injuries he had sustained on his face, nose and head. Rahul has been identified as a resident of Ranoli Ratipur village of Jarcha area. The truck belongs to a Ghaziabad resident, Pramod Tyagi, and the driver and the conductor were seated inside at the time of the accident.
While one of the accused has been detained by police, cops say it is yet to be identified whether he is the driver or the conductor. “One of the duo fled from the spot. So, it is yet to be identified who the driver was,” a police official told TOI.
The truck has been seized. And an FIR has been lodged against the driver under IPC sections 279 (rash driving) and 304a (death due to negligence).
Phase III SHO Amit Singh said Rahul’s body was sent for post-mortem and handed over to the family. Rahul’s family was waiting for his father Satish Chand to come back from Saudi Arabia where he works.
