The government is doing all kinds of work to check the coronavirus. Along with this, a lot of emphases has also been laid on testing.
A total of 3,94,77,848 tests have been conducted so far in the country to detect infection with Coronavirus and more than 10 million samples have been tested in the last two weeks.
The Union Health Ministry gave this information and said that the number of investigations per million population in the country has gone up to 28,607. More than nine lakh samples were tested for the second consecutive day in India, focusing on the central government's 'testing, monitoring, and treatment' strategy.
India has already attained the capacity to conduct 1 million tests per day. A total of 9,01,338 samples were tested over a 24-hour period on Thursday. With this, the total number of tests conducted so far stood at 3,94,77,848. "In the last two weeks, more than one crore samples have been tested for the detection of Kovid," the ministry said.
The ministry underlined that the number of investigations per million population has also increased to 28,607. Infections can be identified at an early stage only by extensive testing, their close contacts can be quickly detected and isolated, to ensure an effective treatment in a timely manner.
The network of laboratories in the country is continuously strengthened as a strategy to emphasize investigation and today there are 1,564 laboratories operating in the country. These include 998 laboratories in the government sector and 566 in the private sector.
