Telangana: 2,751 new Covid-19 cases, active cases over 30,000

HYDERABAD: With 2,751 new Covid-19 cases added in the last 24 hours to the case load in the state, Telangana for the first time recorded over 30,000 active cases on Saturday. The number of active cases has jumped from 17,534 on August 1 to 30,008, seeing a 90 per cent jump.
With the latest numbers the total number of cases recorded so far in the state now stand at 1,20,166. Also 9 deaths were recorded over the last 24 hours taking the total death toll to 808 now.
So far, 89,350 patients have recovered from the Covid-19 infection in the while 30,008 active patients are currently under treatment in the state. Meanwhile, with 62,300 samples tested on Saturday the total number of samples tested in the state till date have 12,66,000 now. The increased testing of samples over the last two weeks has resulted in the samples tested per million count to have increased from nearly 20,000 one month back to 34, 117 per million on Saturday.
