KARLA GRANT PRESENTS
★★★
8.30pm, NITV
This bio of Crystal Clyne, aka hip-hop MC Lady Lash, begins with footage of a live performance, in which the audience nods along with her punchy lyrics about identity, spirituality and race. When she speaks to camera, it is with a rhythm only just removed from her performance poetry. Hers is a story to inspire. On her journey back to country in South Australia, we meet her early mentors and discover more about what has propelled her to succeed in a male-dominated music scene.

CORONAVIRUS IN THE NAVAJO NATION

10.30pm, SBS Viceland
Kudos to the intrepid correspondents at Vice News. They waste no time in parachuting into parts of the world where the proverbial is going down and hard. Here, they are on home soil in the US, in the Navajo Nation, an Indigenous territory in the nation’s south that has been disproportionately affected by COVID-19. The report is rough and raw, but tough questions are posed about aid distribution. The people trying to fight the virus without basics, such as running water, are given a voice.

Series return ★★★

Twelve-year-old Latifa from Adelaide is natural TV talent. She’s sweet, theatrical, and the perfect guinea pig for YouTube maths whiz Eddie Woo’s budgeting experiment. This wonderful educational reality format is back with a new bunch of young candidates across the country with much to learn from having control of the household purse strings for a month. The target market should enjoy watching their peers in what might seem an envious position.
