Health teams face resistance in Patiala

PATIALA: Health teams which are carrying out Covid-19 sampling in Patiala are facing resistance from locals. Even a team of ICMR that visited Shamdo village of Rajpura block in the district recently faced a similar situation.
“The ICMR team wanted to conduct sampling under its second sero survey to check the presence of immunoglobulin anti-bodies ratio developed in the general public. The team wasn’t allowed to take samples in Shamdo, following which it was taken to Khera Gajju village of Kalomajra to carry out the samplings,” said a doctor.
The health teams have faced opposition in Samana, Patran, Ghanour and Rajpura blocks, and in Green Park and Tej Bagh Colony of Patiala city. Patiala civil surgeon Dr Harish Malhotra said rumours were creating a fear of sampling among residents. took place during the day.
