Sushant Singh Rajput Case LIVE Updates: Mumbai Police to Provide Protection to Rhea Chakraborty

Sushant Singh Rajput's Psychiatrist Dr Chavda has now issued a statement saying that Rhea Chakraborty had informed him of Sushant's health on June 8 and asked him to get in touch with his sister from thereon. The doctor further said that he warned Rhea against stopping Sushant's medicines as it might be fatal.

Mumbai police will provide protection to Rhea Chakraborty whenever she commutes from her residence to the DRDO guest house, where the team of CBI officials is stationed. This is being done on the request of Central Bureau of Investigation, Mumbai Police official said, according to news agency ANI.

In an exclusive live interview with CNN-News18, Rhea Chakraborty said she decided to break her silence in the Sushant Singh Rajput case out of responsibility towards her family.

A day before she was summoned by the CBI for questioning in Mumbai, actress Rhea Chakraborty opened up about the Sushant Singh Rajput case in a Live interview with CNN-News18. She responded to all the allegations against her, and said she is happy that the CBI is investigating as she wants to know what happened between June 8 and 14, when she wasn't with the actor.

Sushant Singh Rajput's flatmate Siddharth Pithani has been called by the CBI for the eighth consecutive day for questioning in the actor's death case. He reached the DRDO guest house a while ago. On Wednesday, Pithani was grilled for over 12 hours by the probing agency. 

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) summoned a Goa-based businessman in connection with its money laundering probe linked to the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput, officials said on Friday. They said Gaurav Arya, who runs a hotel in the coastal state, has been asked to depose before the central probe agency at its office in the Ballard Estate area of Mumbai on August 31. In some news channel interviews, Arya had said that he never dealt in narcotics and his last interaction with Rhea was about three years ago, adding he will "comply" with all legal probes and procedures. The agency will also summon some other people with whom Rhea, 28, had similarly interacted in connection with alleged procurement of certain drugs and banned narcotics apart from talking about some other professional deals.

The Congress in Maharashtra onFriday demanded that the "BJP angle" in the Sushant SinghRajput suicide case should be probed. The state BJP, however, rubbished the Congress' demandand allegations. State Congress spokesperson Sachin Sawant claimed that the CBI was going to question Sandeep Singh, who was producer of the biopic 'PM Narendra Modi,' with regard to the drugs aspect of the case. "There is a definite BJP angle to it."

Meanwhile, taking strong objection to the coverage of the Sushant Singh Rajput case by many media outlets, the Press Council of India on Friday said the media should adhere to the norms of journalistic conduct in covering cases under investigation and is advised not to carry out its own "parallel trial". The media should not narrate the story in a manner so as to induce the general public to believe in the complicity of the person indicted, the Press Council of India (PCI) said in its advisory.

Rhea Chakraborty, who appeared before the CBI for the first time on Friday, was not able to answer some particular questions and going back and forth with her replies, CBI Sources informed CNN-News18. On Friday, Rhea had left her residence around 10 am to reach the guest house where the Central Bureau of Investigation's team is stationed. Before her arrival, Sushant's flatmate Siddharth Pithani and manager Samual Miranda had reached the DRDO guest house.

The CBI on Friday interrogated Rhea Chakraborty, who is accused of abetting actor Sushant Singh Rajput's suicide, for over ten hours. Rhea Chakraborty, who appeared before the CBI for the first time, left the DRDO guest house complex in Santacruz a little after 9 pm, said an official.
