SMPIC college holds online competitions

AHMEDABAD: The way of holding competitions and gatherings has all together changed, thanks to the coronavirus pandemic. With all workshops and events shifting online, the SM Patel Institute of Commerce held two competitions the same way.
'Manthan: A Thought Provoking Mission', an elocution competition for BCom (Hons.) and MCom students, was conducted on August 26 and 27 with 178 participants. With topics such as 'Swachh Bharat Mission: Success is still at Large', 'Online Shopping will soon replace all the traditional malls' and 'Management of Failure', the event was aimed at improving oratory and language skills. Students expressed their views in English, Hindi and Gujarati languages.
The 'Readathon competition' is held year-round and comprises college students to indulge in fiction, non- fiction, reference books, magazines and articles. The competition is intended to improve the reading skills of students as well as develop a love for reading and books. The finale was held via an online VIVA assessed by judges: Communication experts Dr Tejal Jani and Dr Nirja Vasavada. To continue their goal of 'For The Students, Of The Students, By The Students', both competitions were organised by the English and Reading Club of the institute.
