Congress workers protest demanding postponement of JEE-NEET
CHANDIGARH: Congress workers and its frontal organisations, including NSUI and Sewa Dal on Friday staged dharnas and protest marches across the state demanding postponement of JEE and NEET in view of Covid-19 pandemic.
Congress spokesperson Ramesh Kumar Bamal said that the protests were done on the call of AICC president Sonia Gandhi. Besides this, the Congress party had been raising the issue of corruption in Haryana, especially during the lockdown period.
"Initially, it was planned to raise the issue of NEET and JEE postponement as the atmosphere in the country is not favourable. There is flood situation in some states and apprehension of spread of Covid-19 in the month of September. Many state and national-level political leaders, including Haryana CM Manohar Lal Khattar have contracted the disease. In such a situation, how can they put the lives of 25 lakh students at rist,’’ said Bamal.
As far as our protests against corruption is concerned, we were forced to do this as the government did not allow our MLAs to raise their voices in assembly. Not even a single person has been punished in various scams, hence it was done across the state.
