Tame Impala's Kevin Parker has purchased a sprawling property built by a music producer in the 1980s for $2.75million.

The home in Yallingup, 256 kilometres south of Perth, is also known as the Wave House.

Parker got a $1million discount on the home, which was originally advertised for $3.7million in June, the West Australian reported.

Parker recorded Tame Impala's debut album Innerspeaker and its 2015 follow-up Currents at the property. 

The musician also has a home with his wife Sophie in Fremantle, also in Western Australia.

The home sits on a 50-acre block of land and is currently run as a exclusive holiday destination.

There are three levels, which house four bedrooms and two bathrooms, and can sleep a total of 12 people. 

The home has uninterrupted views of the Indian Ocean and the Leeuwin-Naturaliste National Park.   

The most distinct feature is the limestone amphitheatre that can fit up to 300 people.
