NEW DELHI: A day after a group of academics wrote to PM Narendra Modi supporting the holding of the rescheduled JEE and NEET in September, BJP on Thursday said the government must go ahead with the entrance tests in the larger interest of the students.
Party general secretary Bhupender Yadav said over 85% students had downloaded admit cards, showing their willingness to take the tests.
“Congress believes students must lose a year so it doesn’t lose an opportunity for politics. The Modi govt won’t let Congress spoil students’ future,” Yadav said.
BJP social media head Amit Malviya said, “Only 332 of the students have sought a change in their centre. These numbers and the silence on several state entrance exams in the past few months underline the politics of AISA-NSUI-SFI behind it all.”
