Illustration used for representational purposeAMBALA: A police complaint has been lodged against two outsourced employees of the civil hospital in Ambala for their alleged involvement preparing false medico-legal reports (MLRs) which are used in criminal investigations.
A medical officer from the health department said, “On Wednesday, a matter had come to our notice after a written complaint by a person that some employees of the civil hospital are involved in preparing false MLRs after showing false injuries on record in lieu of money. The department conducted an internal enquiry and found two employees who confessed that they took money from the concerned person for generating false MLR.”
“Civil surgeon Ambala had lodged a written complaint to Ambala superintendent of police on Wednesday and the accused employees were handed over to the police at Baldev Nagar police station. The department has taken strict cognizance in this matter as it will defame its image,” added the officer of the health department.
On the other side, when contacted, Baldev Nagar police station house officer (SHO) inspector Satya Narain said, “We have received the representation from the civil surgeon office and we are verifying the facts of this case. Two accused were handed over to us but they were released as we have yet not registered a case in this matter. Both involved parties are being questioned to link the instances in this case and action as per the facts will be taken forward.”
