HYDERABAD: NDRF teams on Friday rescued a 55-year-old fisherman who was stranded in Munneru river in Khammam district.
According to NDRF director general Satya Pradhan, as the river was in spate since Thursday, the fisherman got stranded at Chinnamanda Bavi in Chintakani in the district. Pradhan also tweeted a video and photograph of the rescue operation.
Telangana has been receiving heavy rainfall and practically all reservoirs are brimming with floodwater.
In Warangal town, which had got inundated due to the flood situation recently, NDRF teams brought people back to safety in boats. NDRF also carried out relief operations in neighbouring Andhra Pradesh some 10 days ago.
