NEW DELHI: Auto stocks were trading on a negative note at 11:48AM (IST) on Friday.
Shares of Ashok Leyland (down 2.21 per cent), Tata Motors (down 1.53 per cent), TVS Motor Company (down 1.38 per cent), Bharat Forge (down 1.22 per cent) and Hero MotoCorp (down 0.91 per cent) were the top losers in the index.
While Mahindra & Mahindra (up 0.79 per cent), Motherson Sumi Systems (up 0.21 per cent), Bosch (up 0.1 per cent), Amara Raja Batteries (up 0.05 per cent) and Bajaj Auto (up 0.02 per cent) were among the top gainers.
The Nifty Auto index was trading 0.36 per cent down at 8153.75 around 11:48AM.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 115.55 points at 11674.8, while the BSE Sensex was up 433.87 points at 39547.34.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 33 were trading in the green, while 16 were in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, GMR Infra, Federal Bank and Bank of Baroda were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Coromandel Int., GMR Infra, Larsen & Toubro Infotech Ltd., Central Depository Services (India) Ltd. and Atul Ltd hit their fresh 52 week high in today's trade.
