YAMUNANAGAR: A 17-year-old girl from Yamunanagar district was allegedly raped several times by a tantrik in Bibipur Jattan village of Karnal district.
The matter came to light after the girl’s father got to know about her ordeal and took her to the Yamunanagar police to file a complaint.
On the complaint of the girl, a case has been registered against her mother Nirmala Devi of Yamunanagar, her aunt Anju and tantrik Satish Kumar both of Bibipur Jattan under Section 6 (punishment for aggravated penetrative sexual assault) and 17 (punishment for abetment) of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and 506 (punishment for criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) at the Yamunanagar Women police station on Wednesday, August 26, 2020.
In her complaint, the girl stated to the police, “I was studying in Class XII of a government school in a village of Yamunanagar and in December 2019, I suddenly suffered pain in my stomach. I told my parents and they took me to a doctor. Then on December 14, I was taken to a private hospital in Yamunanagar for ultrasound and after seeing my report the doctor said I have stone and neoplasia in my stomach.”
“My mother took me to occultist Satish Kumar saying that he would treat me. I was told to meet Satish on December 21, 2019. I met him at a dharamshala of a temple where he was alone and asked me to see my body so that he can treat me. He raped me there and threatened that if I told this to anybody, my father and brother would die. I got afraid and shared the ordeal with my mother but she said that whatever Satish has done is fine and it will cure me of my disease”, stated the girl.
“Later, my mother started to take me to Satish every Saturday and Sunday. One day, Satish said that he would have to light some earthen lamps to cure me. On April 6, 2020, I was left at my mother’s maternal house in Bibipur Jattan for four days and my aunt Anju sent me to Satish every night at 12am for lighting earthen lamps. Satish used to come outside the house every night and took me to a secluded place in the village where he used to rape me after lighting the lamps. I disclosed this to my mother but she did not pay heed and I started to live under mental stress,”the girl alleged.
“When my father asked me about my stress then I disclosed everything to him. My mother, aunt, and Satish are involved in this crime,” the girl stated.
Yamunanagar women police station in-charge Somwati said, “We have registered a case and the investigation is being done to verify the facts. Raids have been conducted to arrest accused Satish but he is absconding.”
